Borough High Street

The impressive Borough High Street renovation. This project included a recladding of the tired old concrete facade on the 4th floor. In addition to this a balustrade for a 5th floor external was added.
600 sq. meters of 2mm Corten.
4.1m tall rain screen cladding. Water jet cut perforations to balustrade section.

In addition to the rain screen façade works, visionary architects Stiff and Trevillion designed a sculpted entrance and reception feature cladding. This was fabricated from 2mm Corten and chemically rusted to create an organic texture to the surface of the metal. This was then chemically blackened and sealed. The rich brown rust tones mix with the blackening of the steel to create depth and texture. The inspiration for this was the Paul Smith Albemarle Street store Façade in Mayfair.
The water jet cut perforated pattern is accurate to +/- 0.1mm. This allowed the clad doors to seamlessly fit back flush to the entrance wall when open.
